Q: Why is the list of Certifiers I can select from restricted?
A: Only those Council or Accredited Certifiers involved with this pilot will be listed on the Electronic Housing Code system.
These individuals/organisations were selected for involvement in this pilot project following an expression of interest process and an assessment by a panel of selectors. Once selected, they became the Role Model Council’s and Role Model Accredited Certifiers. These stakeholders have informed the design and functionality of the system.
Q: Can I use a Certifier who is not on that list to assess my application?
A: No. You can only select a Certifier that is displayed in that list if using the Electronic Housing Code system to lodge your complying development application.
Q: I want to change my nominated Certifier. Am I able to do that?
A: Yes. You are able to change your nominated Certifier prior to lodging the application. Please note, you are unable to select more than one Certifier at a time.
To change your nominated Certifier, you are required to sign into the system. From here you use the applicant dashboard, by selecting “Change Certifier” from the list of actions beside the relevant application. Once selected, the system will send the original Certifer an email notifying them that you have changed Certifiers. At the same time, it will send the newly nominated Certifer an email asking them to review your application and notify you of their decision to accept you as a client or not.
Q: How do I pay my Certifier their assessment fees?
A: You will pay your assessment fees in accordance with the relevant organisations payment requirements. They will inform you of the terms and conditions at the Submit for Consideration phase.
