Q: Do I need to enter both my address and my Lot/DP information?
A: No. You input either your address or your Lot/DP information. You do not enter both.
Q: What does DP and SP mean?
A: A DP is a deposited plan. An SP is a strata plan. This information can be sourced from a surveying plan or your Notice of Valuation from the Valuer General.
Q: The EHC system said my address was found but the wrong property is highlighted on the map provided. What do I do?
A: The map that is displayed on the “Confirm your site” page may display incorrectly. If it does, but the address you input is correct then please select the yes button. This will not stop you from using the Electronic Housing Code system.
Q: The EHC system could not find my property. What does this mean?
A: The Electronic Housing Code relies on land and property information data supplied by the Councils involved in this pilot. The system searches this database to find your property to identify any restrictions that may apply. If it is unable to do so, there could be many reasons as to why this has occurred. Unfortunately on this occasion you will be unable to use the Electronic Housing Code.
If this occurs, we suggest that you contact your Council.
Q: When I enter my address, multiple options were offered. How do I know which one is mine?
A: If there are multiple lots at your street address, you may be asked to select your property from a list of options. In order to select the correct address, please refer to your Lot DP or SP information.
Q: How important is case sensitivity when entering my address?
A: The property address database is case sensitive and requires an identical match to identify your site. Whilst the system uses predictive text based on the data held within the system, you must select the address that corresponds to your site to proceed.
