The Councils currently involved in the EHC project are:
- 11 Role Model Councils (pilot project) - Bankstown City, Blacktown City, Lake Macquarie City, Liverpool City, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Rockdale City, Shellharbour City, Sutherland Shire, Tamworth Regional, The Hills Shire and Tweed Shire Councils.
- 11 Phase 2 Councils (expansion Councils) - Camden City, Campbelltown City, Coffs Harbour City, Great Lakes, Holroyd City, Kogarah City, Penrith City, Warringah, Willoughby City, Wingecarribbee Shire and Wyong Shire Councils
- 13 Phase 3 Councils (expansion Councils) - Armidale Dumaresq, Ballina Shire, City of Ryde, Ku-ring-gai, Lismore City, Maitland City, Mid-Western Regional, Pittwater, Randwick City, Wagga Wagga City, Waverley, Wollondilly Shire and Wollongong City Councils.
Please note: Ten of the Role Model Councils were "live" on the system by September 2011. The additional 25 Councils are expected to be "live" on the system by mid 2013. These local government areas represented 52% of complying development applications in NSW in 2010-11.
The participating Councils have a structured program of work that is locally relevant and caters for the differing levels of capacity, readiness and scale, but that also strives for greater effeciences and effectiveness through program-level planning.
To be selected to participate in this project, Councils were required to complete an EOI. The successful submissions were assessed against the advertised selection criteria and recommended by an independent selection panel.
