Housing Industry Association Executive Director NSW, David Bare recently offered his support for the Electronic Housing Code (EHC) project stating, "Any initiative that will speed up development approvals is welcomed. Whilst the pilot project is a positive step HIA hopes to see the program expanded to the whole State."
Whilst the EHC system is currently only operational in 10 local government areas, 11 once Liverpool City Council joins the pilot in early 2012, there are plans to expand the system to more local government areas. A call for expressions of interest from the remaining 140 Councils in NSW was recently held and the outcome of this is expected towards the end of the year.
