A process of ‘knowledge capture’ is being used throughout the Electronic Housing Code pilot project to ensure that learnings, opportunities and outcomes are elicited from Role Model Councils, Certifiers, participating State Agencies and project team staff throughout the project’s lifecycle, not just at the end. These case studies can be viewed here.
At the end of the project all feedback collected will be collated and produced as a report. This report will enable others to adopt the standardised processes and integrate with the shared systems developed as part of the project.
The benefits of the Role Model approach will extend to the wider NSW Local Government sector in the following ways:
- Implemented solutions become more cost effective for future participants – there is no need to reinvent the wheel.
- The project becomes a significant opportunity to highlight better practice models.
- The project will actively promote new business practices and processes for Councils.
- The project will foster information sharing between Councils and the formation of online ‘knowledge communities’ on relevant subjects.
- The active promotion and endorsement of appropriate ICT standards for Local Government.
